Custody and vacation

I am currently going through a custody battle. My l.o. starts early preschool next week, her father was aware of this and popped up saying he is taking her on vacation out of state next week. I said no but he has sent a letter from his lawyer stating he is going. Can I just keep her during this visitation time and refuse to let her go? Or will I get in trouble? I'm just so tired of being stepped :), in this and am not getting any direction from lawyers it seems...

Pick your battles. Let them go on holiday. It's only preschool. Yes it's a pain and inconsiderate but some things are not worth having a fight over. Unfortunately if it's his week he can pretty much do this.

TRUST YOUR GUT INSTINCT!! Obviously for you to be questioning this decision there seems to be some trust issues! DO NOT let your daughter go away with your ex. I've been in this exact situation. My son is 5 and was taken Interstate by his father who 'kidnapped' him! He was gone for a whole week before I could get a barrister to get him back!! When my son was "aloud" to call me, he was begging for me to let him come home!! The pain and ordeal was horrendous!! DO NOT let your daughter go interstate without the appropriate paperwork to say exactly when she'll be returned to you!!!

Firstly, just because a lawyer sends you a letter, doesn't mean it's what you have to live by. They try all sorts of standover tactics and hope you will relent. Remember, the lawyer is paid to represent your ex so that's what they are doing.
Saying that, why not let the child go? Are you concerned about her not coming back or simply the fact the father has dictated what he will be doing? If there are no concerns, let her enjoy a holiday away.
