Travelling after c-section

Hi IM's,
I'm due to have my 3rd c-section soon and I'm supposed to be going away a week after. The trip is about a 2 day drive, we were planning on driving. Has anyone else travelled long distance that soon after a c-section by car? Would it be any better if I took the train? I've talked to my ob but just thought I would see if any other mums had experience or tips? Or get some more insight to see what risks are involved? Thankyou

A c-section is major surgery. You should be resting at home or close to home. You have the risk of infection, splitting stitches etc and you want to stay close to medical help. Honestly if there is any way to get out of the trip or delay it, I would do so. Sitting in a car with a seat belt across your stomach for hours would be really painful and sitting in a rocky train would also be painful. I know you are going to do what you are going to do, but please rethink.

I've had 2 c sections and definately would not be travelling that soon afterwards. Best place apart from hospital is home for a few weeks :(

I traveled 6 hours to get home 5 days after my c section. Just take Panadol and also take a pillow to hold over your tummy.
