cannot get a rental

cannot get a rental

My husband and i have always payed rent on time, left houses spotless (payed cleaners) and are quiet with no pets and don't smoke. Before having our first child we were never knocked back for a rental. We have income from our investment property and he has a well paying job. Now ae are living with his mother because NOBODY will give us a rental! We have applied for dozens of houses and they just continually knock us back. Nobody will tell us why so it makes things really confusing. We have been the only people to apply and still get knocked back. We have no idea what on earth we have done wrong! Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on what we can do to get into a rental? We would move into our investment but it is out of state :(

Have you tried private rentals?? I found out the reason my partner and I were getting knocked back because he was black listed because of a debt, I knew someone in real estate that could look for me, otherwise you have to pay money to find out. I hope good luck comes your way soon and you find a home.

Have you contacted your old agents to ask for their help in figuring out the problem?

As a landlord that is really sad to hear. I had a rental property sitting vacant for almost two months. I would have said yes to you. As long as you have sound financials and good references then I'm not sure what would be the problem. I have just accepted an application for a young couple moving out of home for the first time and they have no rental history. You need to give people chances and have some faith and good insurance. lol

Maybe find out what your credit ratings are? Check with your previous real estate agent and ask if they have been receiving calls? Maybe confirm if they had been happy with you?

I too found it hard to look for a rental once when my now ex and I were looking for a place and I was just about to give birth. I have always been a home owner and we decided to knock our house down to rebuild. We offered then 6 months in advance in rent as we had no rental history. Are you in a position to offer them that? I have also heard that the rental price can sometimes be a negotiation where prospective tenants have offered more per week. I know that's not right, but it can be ruthless out there.

Good luck and I hope you find something soon.

Thank you for your reply. It is very disheartening..
We are in a position to offer 6 months rent in advance, i didn't think of that but will definitely offer in future.
The only reason we could have possibly made our previous real estate unhappy is that we complained multiple times about our neighbor doing burnouts in the carpark next to our babys bedroon every single night. She got annoyed at us for complaining and eventually we moved out because of it.
As far as i know, we have good credit but i can take a look. Thank you
I wish we could find somewhere. It is so hard living with his family. I don't know how much longer i can do it but i have no choice.
