Working at a childcare centre with my own kids.

Working at a childcare centre with my own kids.

Hi IM's
I have been a SAHM for the last 3 years and I have 2 kids. Im really thinking about going back to work. I would love to work at a childcare center so I can still be close to my kids.
Any mums on here work at a Childcare centre with their kids? Any advice on getting a job? Do you get a discount on fees?
I have previously worked in a centre as an unqualified assistant. I am enrolled to do the cert 3. Maybe I am just really nervous as Ive been out of the workforce for the last 3 years.... going back might be a shock to the system.
Any advice will be appreciated :-)

You won't get to spend much time with your kids. My sister worked in the same centre as her kids, she saw them to say hi and bye to, but no quality time. She was far too busy. She had this arrangement because she worked in childcare before she had kids, not so she could spend time with her kids.
I have no idea on discounts etc.

Quite a few of the teachers at my son's daycare have children of their own at the centre and I believe the main perk is that they get guaranteed enrollment for their kids.

I have done it for the last 4 years. It has it advantages like no stops on the way to work you can do any shift, but it has a crappy side too. I see a lot more then other parents do I've walked in to her room to find her asleep in wet cloths, her being told off when she was not at fault, there has also been afew other things I have seen that have lead to written formal complaints. If I could do the last 4 years again I would have her at a different centre as the mummy hat never comes off.
