The Birds and The Bees

The Birds and The Bees

I wanted to ask all mums out there when they had "the talk" with their girls. My daughter is only seven but very smart. She is starting to ask questions about how babies are born and seems to think they come out of the mums butt. lol. I'm not sure if I'm ready to talk about this with her but don't want her friends to make fun of her. I'm at an impass and just want to hear what other mums think. Thanks Jules

7 is a great age to start with the basics, clearly not going into great details but like how baby's are made and where they come from. She may be your little girl still but in just a few more years, as early as 10 or earlier she will start puberty and you will need to talk about that too, so starting now to slowly introduce all this information she will need to learn is good. She will feel more comfortable talking to you about it as she gets older too

Reposted on the facebook wall too and hope it helps!

My daughter and I (She's 9) watched the "Where did I come from" DVD recently - as I figured I wanted her to hear it from me then from someone else! Also wanted to point out to her that she could ask any questions on the topic from me too... seemed to go well I thought? Good luck!

My 6 yr kid has just gone through this, as I was expecting baby 3. I told her the basics and stuck to the truth as best as I could she is also very smart and the brush off answers didn't cut it for her
