Weight loss medication part 2: Metformin, anyone used this before?

I asked a question about weight loss medication last week. I went to the doctor today and she wants to prescribe a medication called Metformin, it is primarily used for diabetes but has also been used to help people lose weight. I'm just wondering if anyone who has used this medication would like to share if it has helped them lose weight. I know that I am still going to have to work to lose weight (healthy food and exercise), and am really only looking for something that will help me along a bit. Thanks in advance.
