Modern cloth nappies are great. Easy to use and look after. As for what brand to use, it really comes down to personal preference. I suggest buying a couple of different ones and giving them a try. You can get some good secondhand ones from MCN pages on Facebook. Beware! They can be addictive! Any questions, feel free to Facebook message me.
