Waters breaking

Waters breaking

Hi ladies, im due in a few weeks with #2. I was induced with my first so have no idea what its like to go into labour naturally. Its not the labour/delivery that has me nervous, it's actually the thought of my waters breaking while out and about! Silly i know!
So, i would love to hear some stories about where you were when your waters broke! :)

My 1st and 2nd were both spontaneous labours. My 1st they broke my waters while in labour and with my 2nd my waters didnt break until my sons head was crowning! My 3rd was an induction due to preeclampsia. I've never had that "omg my waters have broken" moment & I feel sort of ripped off haha.

I think I was pretty lucky when my waters broke.

It was the day after my due date and I had an appointment with my midwife for a stretch and sweep. I woke up 5 mins before my alarm was due to go off. I contemplated going back to sleep, but decided to get up. I went to the toilet, and was doing my thing when I realised my 'wee' wasn't stopping! It was actually my waters haha. I think if I have gone back to sleep for 5 minutes I would've been laying in bed when they broke!
Only downside was my partner was way down the other end of the house with headphones on so couldn't hear me yelling for him.

I went out to dinner 6 weeks before my due date with hubby and friends. We were making jokes about spilling a glass of water on the floor up scare the waiters etc. Well cursed myself, stood up to leave and it happened for real! Middle of the restaurant - apparently the look on my face was priceless! .

Mine broke at about 1am in the morning. I thought I pee'd myself a little and was in denial for about 10mins until I started having big gushes of fluid. I remember going to the hospital with my pants soaked and walking with a towel between my legs.

I had been booked in for induction (was on the ward) but starting having very painful contractions before they could do anything and was moved to delivery. I'd been having contractions for hours before my waters broke on there own so no big deal. Even if I hadn't been in hospital when my waters broke I doubt I would have been out and about in that much pain :)

I was sitting at the sewing machine making myself a new bag when I thought I must have peed myself - but it just wouldn't stop and gradually leaked for an hour or so. Went into the hospital that evening and they decided to keep me in (3 days of sheer boredom), but labour didn't start and I ended up being induced.

For all 3 pregnancies my waters broke either in the bathroom or toilet. It was up constantely through the night having to do wee's so even tho it was a pain in the bum to get up all the time I guess it was better than having my water break in bed. A cousin of mine had hers break in bed and she bought a new matress. I layed on a towel in the last few weeks just in case.

I woke up at 3am BUSTING to go to the toilet. Rolled myself out of bed as you do at 40 weeks pregnant! Then bolted to the toilet! It was like absolute desperation to get to the toilet. Once I got there pulled down my pants and it all started gushing out I promptly plopped myself on the toilet so fast and I was just sitting there thinking to myself boy I really had to go! After a few minutes realizing it wasn't stopping I looked between my legs to realize it was all bloody and realized it was my waters! It eventually stopped enough for me to get up and wake my hubby to get things together while I had a shower. It then leaked constantly all the way to the hospital! My husband was in love with his car and made me sit on about 8 towels so I wouldn't ruin his seat lol.!
I'm a hairdresser and was so paranoid my water would break whilst I was in the middle of somebody's haircut!

1st lot spontaneously in hospital after 11 hours of contractions, 2nd broken by doctor to speed labour up a bit, 3rd spontaneously again in hospital after 4 hours of labour, 4th spontaneous at home which was followed by 3 hours of labour, although I did have a bit of a stretch and sweep the day before. Came out in a big sort of gush, didnt wet clothes or furniture, but became more so as labour progressed. So yea, all pretty different :)
