I want a hysterectomy... NOW

(Sorry for tmi moments, Men this talks about periods and icky stuff so beware! ?)

Hi! I'll start from when my problems began. I've had a tubal ligation done during my last cesarean 3 years ago.
I was pretty ok afterwards and had no period for 8 months because of breastfeeding. My 1st period after that was SO horrible but I thought "well its been almost a year and a half since a normal period so meh"
BUT since then, (2013) I have had maybe 4-5 days a month where I am not having a gushing disgusting period. Seen a doctor, tried the pill to control bleeding with no luck. Saw a gynecologist through Public Hospital who cannot find any reason for the bleeding, so they decided to do a D&C plus hysteroscopy and Insertion of Mirena (to help settle bleeding).
I had the procedure and was hoping for the best but nope... swollen like a dead cow on the side of the road and gushing period for 6 weeks. Got the mirena taken out = still bleeding.
I'm waiting to see gynecology again to see what they can do to help me. I feel disgusting ALL the time, can't use tampons, so walking around with a pad on 24/7 my whole life is just gross!
I guess this isnt really a question, I'm really just asking if anyone else has had this horrible shit happen to them, or am I just a weirdo??

My mum used to get this. Unfortunately for her it was because of scar tissue in her uterus from multiple c-sections. She ended up on HRT, it worked miracles. There are options other than a hysterectomy. You haven't run out.

Hysterectomy comes with its own set of issues and risks (which I bet would seem pretty minor compared to what you're going through!!) but I suggest demanding they do everything they can to stop this.

I feel for you have been dealing with this issue since i was 15 (now 29) constant bleeding and pain - i even bled through a successful pregnancy. I had been on several medications and had multiple tests and procedures done. Still waiting for some sort of answer. I am in a rural town and had to seek medical advice in the city but still no answers.
No advice really but I know how you feel about the whole gross thing

This sounds like me 11 years ago. I was 29 and had three beautiful children. I was over it. So my next gyno appointment after the last failed D&C I simply asked for the hysterectomy. Took the Dr by surprised as I was so young. Once I explained that I had 100% finished having children he booked me straight in for my hysterectomy. I have never looked back. Life is so much easier without the constant bleeding and discharge. Just be warned it is major surgery. You will need a minimum 6 weeks recovery time. But if you feel strongly about it, never be afraid to ask!
