Centrelink single-parenting

Hi my question is, if you're on single-parenting payments through Centrelink, do you need to tell them if you start seeing someone? Or do you just need to tell them if your circumstances change? Also, how many nights per week is allowed for a partner to stay over if you're on single-parenting? Asking for a friend :)

No you don't have to tell them until you move in together. I'm not 100% sure on the how many nights they can stay but I think it's when they start contributing to the household financially is what can get you in to trouble if you don't tell centrelink. There is some info on the website about it

From what I've been told. Unless your new partner is supporting you financially, you don't need I claim change of circumstance. This is unless you are returning to the partner which made you single.

Kelly here - from the IM team. I REALLY recommend just giving Centrelink a call and asking them. They would be able to give the most accurate and up to date advice.

Hope your friend has found someone amazing! :-) x
