I think it depends why you want one. If it's for presents then any event where you are doing it for the presents is greedy. If it's to have fun and celebrate the pregnancy and future child then it's not greedy. If it's the latter just put on the invite your presence is enough of something similar.

All kids are a blessing and you can celebrate each one. If your worried say don't bring a gift just share time together

No it's not greedy, I had my first child 6&1/2 years ago and I was a single Mum at the time and I've since met someone lovely and married and if and when we have a baby together I will have another baby shower.
I don't expect gifts however I gave away all my baby stuff like bassinet, capsule, clothes, feeding equipment etc so I only have the keepsakes left and my high chair and my daughters big booster car seat that she's still in.
