Anyone had haemorrhoids removed?

Hi, can you post this anon for me please?

Wondering if any other mummies have had haemorrhoids removed? I've had them for about 10 years now (since my first pregnancy). Spoke to a doctor about them way back then but was advised to wait til I had finished having babies. Have just had my last baby and spoken to a doctor as they are really painful, and have been given a referral to see a surgeon. Just wondering if anyone else has had them removed and has any advice.

My hubby had them removed after years of reoccurring. Neve had an issue since. Recovery was a couple of weeks.

I am sorry to say that I had the surgery a few years ago and it did not go well for me. It was a combination of factors but the end result was that I was worse off. After many complications I was told they could try again but it was better to wait until I had finished having children. Since then I have just learned to live with it and I would not go though it again as the recovery was probably the most traumatic experience I have been through. In saying that, I have heard from others that it has been successful and recovery not that bad. My advice would be if you are going to have the surgery that you do some thorough research on your surgeon and ensure they will actually be there on the day. Best of luck :)

Hi I had mine banded in November, it was painful that night but no more then when they are flared. It was fine the next day just had to take it slowly for a few days

I got them while pregnant with my now 3 year old and last year had them removed and I'm sorry but it was the most painful, most excruciating pain I have ever experienced afterwards. It was a quick surgery and an overnight stay but when I got home I was curled up on the bed, screaming into my pillow after going to the toilet and the stuff you have to take before the surgery is horrendous. Thankfully they gave me Endone for the pain. It really depends on what type and where they are whether they can band them or they have to be cut off. I had mine cut off and I would say it took about 5 days to go to the toilet pain free and took a long time to heal. Would I do it again, yes. I got told the chances of them returning with another pregnancy are very slim.
