How do mums find the time and motivation to exercise? I've never really been a sporty or active type but always had jobs where I was on my feel and busy all the time and never had a weight issue so never worried about it. I'm only a few kgs over weight now but I'm not happy about it, I eat reasonably well and eat minimal junk food but I don't exercise at all. I have no motivation to at all, I cant really afford a personal trainer and hate going to the gym......

Get some friends involved and go walking or do yoga together. That way all of you feel if you don't do it you are letting the others down and you can have more fun doing it. It can be free fun and good down time to relax with friends you won't feel like your exercising at all :-)
So I have 3 kids and work Pt, and have zero time for full on exersize. I walk the stairs at work, play the wii fit when the kids are in bed, and race my 8yo every chance I can, I also walk to get bread and milk rather than the 3min drive. I also walk at lunch just 1klm with my iPod. Good luck
A gym isn't that bad, some gyms have childcare so you can take your child (if under 6). It's a good way to get a break from them and get some exercise. It's not like you have to go running 10 k an hr on the treadmill or do weights, you can do a pilates class or something. If time is an issue or your not motivated to do a longer session break up your exercise throughout the day. In the morning write a list of the exercises you need to complete, for example: Walk for 15 minutes, 40 squats, 15 pushups etc. Just get up and walk up and down the hall way for 2-3 minutes then do this again every few hours. When I was at work on my 3 breaks I would stand up and do 20-30 squats -It adds up! I also found at home workouts you can find online or at the shops were funny lol and not taking it too seriously was fun.
I think also doing a group activity with friends or another family member who also have children.
The best thing to do is make it a priority. Try and wake up and have a coffee and a banana then just go! Start small for 10-15 minutes a day then add more. You'll find once you get into the routine of it you'll enjoy it more.
Do you have an instagram account? I found motivation in groups such as 'aphroditfit' they post before and after shots of peoples transformations. There is also fitness facebook groups and everyone keeps each other motivated. Just stock up your fridge with healthy fresh food and drink lots of smoothies, the good kind not the kind that has icecream and full fat milk lol. I have a scoop of rapid loss, one banana, rasperries or whatever berries i have in, black chia seeds and sometimes spinach and a bit of lite soy milk. I also have a juicer and make vege juice like carrot celery ginger apple juice. Just whatever is in the fridge is good :)
There's an app on iPhone (probably android etc too) that's called 7 minute work out. I think it was $2. Basically you do this exercise thing everyday, and you record your weight in the program. It's not easy but it only takes 7 mins a day, and my kids think it's fun to try to do the exercises too.
