A break

A break

Does anyone else wish they'd get sick so they could be left in peace for once? (nothing serious, just a cold or flu or something).
Everyone always says oh you wouldn't want that because then you'd be sick.
But I reckon it'd be worth it if you just got left alone for a few days and didn't have to think about anyone else, or seperate fighting children, or make dinner, or dishes,or washing, or bed time etc
Sigghh

Would be nice! Except in my house you still have to soldier on and do everything, bed just isn't an option sometimes so best to just stay healthy

OP here,
Yes I thought it would probably end up that way in my house too. Not sure though because I'm never sick (knock on wood).
Just a fantasy lol

I had a horrid cough recently. I could barely breathe. But my fiancé works full time so I still needed to get up and do everything for my son.
I'm lucky he's only a baby still! I'm sure being sick with a toddler/child would be much worse!
But there's no break when it comes to being a mummy, no matter how sick you are! It just means a lot more catch up to do on the laundry when you feel better.

It'd be lovely if I got left alone when I was sick. My husband is one of those ones where if I'm sick it doesn't matter, I still have to be up doing whatever he wants to do that day. But if he's sick, well he's dead... I mean the world stops when he's sick!

Honestly I LOVED the few days I had in hospital after having a c section with my youngest, despite recovering from major surgery I had nice meals delivered to me, didn't have to clean up after a toddler, do any housework, it was bliss! Haha so yup I totally get where you're coming from!

I enjoyed my gall bladder removal. Was in hospital for a few days prior and after and it was awesome!
I'm very lucky though I get the house to myself one night a week because my parents have my son. It's heavenly

I always say I wish I could just take a holiday from life in general.

Lol its so funny people loving their hospital stays! I was out within hours of having my first, but considering staying a week when I have my second...

Seriously though, you need to take a break while you're healthy!

Haha yeah. Hubby has just gone through tonsillitis and strep throat and he was bed ridden for 2-3 days. I have to say I resented him a little. I'm starting to get a slightly sore throat now and I can't decide if I want it to turn into strep throat or not lol, because yes, I'll probably still have to be up and doing everything. Sigh. We've got our third due at the end of this year and definitely thinking of stay a couple of days in hospital...

I dread getting sick as I have to just get on with it! Bed is not an option! Hubby is at work till quite late most nights, kids have to get to school and then Pre school....lunches need to be made, and dinner and kids bathed and in bed....then hubby gets home!! I have always said My dream holiday would be to be sedated for two weeks, whilst drip fed lots of vitamins and minerals, have hair nails, wax and spray tan done whilst out for the count still...and wake up looking and feeling great and truly refreshed! Lol
