Can you advise me on child support
My partner pays child support in lieu each week
It has been asked of him to pay monthly. So he has paid up till Friday n now he has been asked to pay four weeks up front in advance. He is happy to do the monthly payment but feels should be in lieu not in advance. Does anyone know what the rules are. We would like to resolve without consulting csa so please don't advise that. I know that's an option

It wouldn't be something I would dig my heels in over either way. It's just not a big deal. It's not rent it's money for kids so as long as your paying the correct amount each month does it matter wether it's technically in advance or in lieu?
Thanks for replying
He pays always pays on time everytime. He has paid in lieu always & the question is does anyone know the rules or if there are any.
It actually matters a LOT but that is not what the post is about
Who has asked you to pay monthly? If it is the mother, then you don't have to pay monthly simply because she wants it. CSA provide documents giving you a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or yearly figure. The person paying it can choose which frequency they pay it as long as the total amount is paid within that year.
This is straight from the CSA website: Payment frequency and due date
The paying parent chooses whether to make weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments. Payments are due 7 days after the chosen payment period.
Payments are not in advance, which means that payments are for the past week, fortnight or month not the upcoming week, fortnight or month.
(there's a lot more info about child support on their website - http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/child-support/child-su...
Why don't u take the middle ground 2 weeks behind and 2 ahead?
