Disability help

A dear friend of mine has Spastic Diaplegia (a form of Cerebral Palsy). She is pregnant and recently single and is becoming nervous about how she will care for bub when they arrive. Does anyone have any advice on where to get information on support services, good products available or just some tips on simple things she can do to cope? We're in the Hunter, NSW.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks xx

I think if she went to the Dr, or midwives at the hospital they will be amazingly supportive!!
I've just done a quick google search, for 'Help for parents with a disability NSW' and a whole load of pages came up on the NSW govt. website :-)

Chin up Mumma!! You'll be amazing!!

I would do a dry run with a doll to make sure the house and baby furniture is set up to help make it easier... I have mild cp and find it much easier to change a nappy on a change table than on the floor so i have a change table with a strap so as she gets bigger i can put the strap on if i think she is wriggling too much, having a baby bath on a stand next to the change table or putting the bath on a table large enough to have space beside the bath to dry and dress baby would make bathtime less stressful etc of course the above tips would depend on how much the cp affects her... So i would do the dry run and make sure the house was ready to go...
