Flu and fevers in the first trimester

We are expecting our 2nd baby later this year. I Ended up getting the flu when I was about 4 or 5 weeks pregnant. I had temps go up to 39+ degrees. I took Panadol to try and keep my temps down. It lasted for about a week. I have since read that fever in early pregnancy can cause birth defects or brain damage (from an actual government website).

I just wondered if anyone else has had a similar situation happen and if everything worked out ok? just a little freaked out as I'm also 35.

Same thing happened to me and my baby turned out absolutely fine. Talk to your GP if you are worried and try not to stress xx

Yup, exactly the same happened to me. Horrible, week-long proper flu with high temps at about 5-6 weeks. I was similarly freaked out but mine is now nearly 4 and is perfect.

Try not to stress xxxx
