My dd will be 4 in February and has been day toilet trained for well over a year now. She is almost night trained too. My concern is that whenever she goes swimming she has the urge to poo. I still have her in swim nappies to avoid any accidents. It is certainly not intentional on her behalf, I am wondering whether it could be a relaxation thing or something else. Has anyone else experienced this? All suggestions welcome. TIA

My lil girl does the same, but only in heated pools. Which is a pain as she is a water baby and I'm a learn to swim teacher, she is the only one out of all the kids I have that does it, she turned 3 a month ago and has been toilet trained for over a year.
I now put a swimmer nappy and a full swim suit. No matter how many times I ask her does she need to go she always says no, or I'll ask her to go before we get in.
I think it's cause they are relaxed .
I would think this has something to do with the movement/ exercise getting the bowels working and like you said, the relaxation. I am sure it will calm in time, you can get some nice re usable swim nappies that also look like swim wear.
Totally normal. My eldest (whom is now 8) alway had the urge to poo. the amounts of times I had to embarrassing go to the desk at the pools and say what happened was unaccountable! Its because they are more relaxed in the pool and its easier for the poo to come out as there isnt the fear of gravity or anything like that. It took a while for my son to get out and poo, but he got there
