My baby boy won't settle on the breast. He will attach perfectly fine three to five minutes later (and while still attached) starts to scream. Lactation consultants and doctors said my milk is in great supply with the let down not being too fast, and he doesn't suffer from reflux, silent or otherwise. He takes a bottle of expressed milk no problems without screaming/fussing. Does anyone have any suggestions or have been through something similar?

Is it possible that he's in pain with the position he's in? Have you tried a different hold/position? Perhaps a baby chiropractor or osteopath might be able to assist?
We have tried many positions and are currently on our 7th visit to the chiropractor. I just don't want him to be in any more pain.
Sounds like wind? Perhaps the flow is a little fast for him and hes gulping it down causing pain. You could try expressing some before feeding him and that it shouldnt be so fast.
Also try feeding in a different position, im not sure what you have tried but the 'football' position is a good one and also laying next to him on a bed and feeding. Just double check he is attached correctly and no air is getting in too.
Thank you, we have tried the football hold with not much success. I have tried the expressing prior but that was when he was first suffering... maybe worth another shot.
if he takes the bottle fine, maybe he's just getting frustrated because breadtfeeding is such hard work for him in comparison. Do you give in and give him the bottle after a few minutes of fussing? I bet there's your answer.... How old is he? And how long did you breastfeed only before offering the bottle? Nipple confusion I think it's called. I was so afraid of it that I didn't offer both my girls the bottle until they were 2 months old. Result was neither of them accepted the bottle. Luckily I was able to do without, so I didn't try very hard.
Not sure what you can do though, lactation consultant should know.
