mastitis?

mastitis?

Hello mums!

I don't want to over react and yes I will be making an appointment with the doctor asap. A few months ago my right breast had a fair bit of discharge. I put it down to old milk. (I haven't fed in going on 2 years) anyway for the last week it has become increasingly sore (I am not pregnant I 110% certain) I have given it a feel and it seems a bit lumpy. Could there be a chance I have mastitis. (I had it when my son was born and it doesn't feel like it)

I'm not too sure but I think you are doing the right thing by going to the gp xx

Definitely a chance of mastitis, however it is normally accompanied by flu-like symptoms. Discharge from the nipple (in the absence of breastfeeding) and lumpy breasts can also indicate other changes, so either way the doctor is the go.
