sleeping issues

Hi mums and dads, I want to know if this is normal for this age group or not. My question is my 16 month old use to be fine getting put into his cot for naps but is now waking as soon as he feels me put him down, he is wanting to be held. He is now starting to do this in the middle of the night, the olny time he goes down fine is bed time. Will this pass?

He is also breastfeed to sleep

Very common, and quite normal for his developmental stage - usually a result of one of or a combination of mental leaps, teething and separation anxiety. If it's safe why not feed him to sleep lying on your bed then sneak away when he's asleep for the day naps?

Was wondering if you are putting him down when he is asleep in your arms? If so, could you try teaching him to self settle, give him a teddy to cuddle, play some sort of white nose music and then you pat him or shhhh him until he falls asleep. I have 2 year old twin boys and for well over a year I put them down for a nap or at night awake and they fall asleep on their own.

I am putting him down while alsleep. Ive tried to pat him to sleep and playing white noise but he just stands up screaming for me to pick him up. I know I need to keep strong and continue to just pat him but find it hard. I have probably made things worse by never lasting more than 10 min and now whenever I try this method he knows mum will eventually give in. He sleeps 12 hours straight some night so he knows how to self soothe but just not how to go to bed on his own
