MAKING ENDS MEET :-(

(Canberra Based)

My husband recently lost his job. He has managed to find a new one and he really enjoys it but it is $400 (yup, FOUR HUNDRED) a week less than his old one so we are struggling to cover our bills.

He wants to find another job that he can do a couple of evenings a week, or even on saturday's but most jobs that have night shift seem to want you to be available for a variety of shifts and won't let you JUST do the nights or weekends.

Does anyone have any recommendations or know of anything that he could apply for? He is a very hard worker, very honest and loyal (was in his other job for 7 years before the company closed down), and will pretty much do anything from cleaning to night fill (but I have looked and can't find any available right now) to handyman chores (he is a qualified, experienced carpenter) and so on and so forth.

Am hoping the CM community is able to help us out, if anyone has anything available or even can just suggest an avenue we haven't thought of.

Thanks in advance! xo

Hi. I have a property management business that I run from home and always in need of a handyman. It's a small portfolio so I can not guarantee a consistent work but if he has insurance and ABN I'd be happy to give him a go on some small jobs when they come up?

Not sure is Uber is in Canberra or not, if not now, shortly will be? Basically using your own car to drive people places, $20 - $30 an hour and weekends are obviously best. You can log on to drive whenever you like and log off when you have had enough. Anyway, here's the site and all the drivers i've had love driving for Uber. https://partners.uber.com/drive/
