Hi Ladies
i wrote in a few weeks ago about a preg test i did that came up negative but after a few days had a faint line, so to update i left it another week before doing another test just to be sure, turns out i am in fact very much pregnant {HURRAY}
i did two more home preg tests which came up positive straight away and then went to my dr for bloods and all came but positive, have had my first {early} scan and all seems to be going well.
Except....... i have the worst possible morning {all day} sickness you can imagine, its so bad i spend most days in bed, ive done no house work and dinners in our house have been pretty basic, i seem to have no patience for my other children as im just feeling so ill i gag if i cough and sometimes actually vomit, but the nausea is just not doing it for me! am feeling very useless right now!
this baby was planned and we had tried for months and months and now im worried ive made a huge mistake, i know the end result will be great and we will love and cherish this child with everything we have but im over 30 and just not sure my body is able to handle this any more.
i lay in bed all day i cannot sleep i cant barely eat and all i think about is all the things i should be doing {chores, stuff with my kids, jobs etc}
im hoping this doesn't stick around for much longer, any other mummies had this? how long does it generally last and what can i do to get rid of the nausea? i bought some elivit ginger and B12 tablets they seemed to work the first day but definitely haven't any day since. i know some women get injections from a dr but i don't think mine is quiet that bad. {maybe im being a little precious}
this is my last baby and i want to enjoy this pregnancy, but i cannot stand feeling this sick :(
any tips?
thanks

Go back to your GP. This sounds like more than normal morning sickness and I think they can prescribe you something.
That's awesome news congrats ...sorry about the sickness .... I had horrible sickness with my daughter and a few stints in hospital as a result of constant vomiting. You will pull through x
I had terrible all day sickness for all 3 of my pregnancies, as for as much help as possible and accept all the help people offer. Take fats and heavy foods out of your own diet and stick to basics. Keep your sugars up and get all the rest you can because being tired makes it worse. Maxalon is an anti nausea tablet and if its so severe that it doesn't work ask the doctor for Zofran (but its really expensive). I found having a bath helped most times. Ginger biscuits or salted crackers are great to keep beside the bed. Try and eat lots of little meals all the time and have plenty of food to snack on. Drink sips of water and make icy poles your friends. Good Luck with it all. And if it still keeps getting worse go to your gp or local hospital there's a chance they'll admit you so they can put some fluids into you and it will make you feel a whole lot better.
I snack...all day, constantly! Its the only way I make it through the day. Just little stuff like grapes or carrot sticks (or pretzels lol) but it seems to work. As soonas I het rremotely hungry I feel sick :(
Congratulations mumma and I hope it passes quickly x
With my first my nausea (all day like yours) was so bad that by 6 weeks I could not leave the house was unable to keep much down at all. It was not hyperemesis but I had lost 20% of my body weight by 13weeks. Maxolon helped enough that I could leave the house without fear of embarrassing vomit incidents.
By 20 weeks I was able to stop the tablets but still felt nauseaous all day long. For many more weeks it stuck around.
See a doctor to make sure you're a healthy weight etc then just ride it out....
I am 12 weeks pregnant and have been vomiting a lot at any time of day for the last 6 weeks. At first salty foods helped (pretzels, popcorn, chippies, Macca's) however now I can't stand pretzels! I now have to make sure I don't get hungry. So that means breakfast before anything else in the morning (nutrigrain isn't too bad to vomit, very smooth and sweet) and then food constantly throughout the day. Macca's or greasy food is still my best friend! LOL!
Ginger tablets also help from time to time, and on the really bad days I take a maxolon.
Hang in there Mumma. This is my first and being sick is definitely doing my head in! Xx
A lady I worked with suggested slippery elm. I would Have it first thing in the morning and had no morning sickness at all.
Prior to this I was throwing up and nauseous for a few weeks and with my first pregnancy I was very ill with horrible morning sickness and ended up on a drop of IV fluid a number of times
