Career loss thanks to kids

Just some advice for those who may still be considering having children or not and who are very career minded/oriented: Unless you've always had a deep seated desire to have kids Don't do it! OR if you still want to advance your career, only have one child at the most.
This is advice I wish someone was around to give me, so hopefully I can help other career-minded women who are still on the fence.
I don't have the energy to put in all the disclaimers about being lucky to have kids at all (I KNOW) and to put even why I'm saying this in context. Only those incredibly career-oriented will understand. Thank you.

I think I can understand as having children makes you time poor. It's hard to compete with other people who have all the time in the world but we have to rush off to pick up children and cook dinners etc.
From experience, I think you can still have a career but it may be a different to what you have had and it might take you a little longer to progress to next level but it is possible.

It all depends on the kind of job you have. I had to quit my job after having a child, persisted as long as I could & my bosses were very supportive but I could not guarantee that I would be there at end of month to close off the accounts, my first use to get sick for weeks at a time. It was a hard decision to make, but I did what was best for me, my family & the company I was working for. I really hope to go back to work one of these days, the next hurdle.....
