Getting baby to sleep in his own bed?

Hi IM's sorry it's a bit of a length one. My son is 6 months and has always been a terrible sleeper. Over the last two months he has started refusing to sleep in his cot. I'm talking scream blue murder for two hours at 2am. I could rock, pat, cuddle in a chair he would not go to sleep...until he was in my bed with me! Usually this would happen in the early hours of the morning so I didn't mind putting him in with me, but now we are at a point where it's as soon as I go to bed (I swear he has a sixth sense!)

We have had some huge changes recently and he has been sick the last week as well so I have just gone with the flow and co-slept with him. To give a better idea, we moved interstate and stayed with my sister-in-law the past two weeks, which meant my son had to sleep in a porter cot which he has always disliked. I went from stay at home Mum to full time work, which meant my son is in full time day care (however I am his day care teacher so it's not a total shock for him or me!). We have moved into our own house again this weekend as well.

Now my question is has anyone got advice on how to help my son learn to sleep in his cot again? I understand I'm my sons safety and his constant, so he needs me more right now due to all the changes. However he will quite happily go to sleep in a cot at day care. So far at home, he screams blue murder :( he is sick at the moment so I am hoping it's not so bad when he is better. But I'm not sure how to help him adjust to sleeping on his own through the night again (he does and has always woken 4 or more times a night and I always get up to feed/settle).

Thanks for helping with my novel, hope it makes sense :)
