My daughter was diagnosed with an eating disorder at age 5. We have been with the eating disorder unit at Westmead children's hospital receiving treatment since this age and at age 7 she was admitted into hospital. She seemed to improve a little after this however at age 10 we are being readmitted. This is a scary roller coaster we are on and things don't seem to be getting better. Not looking forward to going back in but there doesn't seem to be much else we can do. So my question to everyone out there is what treatment do others know of that has worked. Overseas? Interstate?

That must be really hard for you and your family. Well done for pushing through, advocating for your child and looking for treatment options that are individual to her needs. It sounds like you are doing your absolute best for her. I read a book last year called The Boy Who Loved Apples about a mothers journey to support her son who had anorexia and find the best possible care for him. I think she's based in Brisbane. The book might be useful for you?
