haemorrhoids

haemorrhoids

I developed haemorrhoids from childbirth over a year ago. At the time, doctors gave me a cream and told me they would go away. They haven't. What can I do?

I got them after birth and still have them (it's been 5 years). They kind of go away (or decrease) and then come back. I heard things like diet/stress can make them worse and if you improve your diet when you do a poo it's easier and less strain in the area - make sure you drink lots of water! I also notice they can get bad if I am stressing

I too had this. Unfortunately I was told the same thing "they will go away, with change of diet, water etc etc". They didn't, only after I had 2 operations they did.
1st op was the banding, which didn't end up working it popped off. So I went in for a second op to have it cut out. Very painful afterwards and for at least 2 weeks afterwards. But it was well worth it. I got mine done after my second child (damage was done by my first as she was a big baby), it's been about a year and a half since I had the second op and I'm starting to get a new one roughly around the same spot as the one I had removed. When it was very painful (before the op), I used movocol to help keep my stools soft.
Good luck with it xo

I got them after childbirth too, it was pure agony, I lasted about four weeks of coping with them on my own, crying and trying not to vomit from the pain of going to the toilet. I even went four days between each motion it was so painful. I went on a laxative called movicol available from chemists and it was the best thing ever. I also got a cream which didn't do much. But I was on the laxative for about three months and haven't needed them since. It gave me a good amount of time to heal and to set up a good eating and drinking regimen. I've heard that regular exercise keeps things regular too..
