You usually don't loose hair while pregnant then eventually start loosing all the extra hair. It will naturally stop or slow down but if you are worried (ie. loosing so min it is really noticeable) then see a dr :) I used to get a good lot in my hand when ever I brushed or washed it!
As Alanna said its normal but it might be worth seeking a medical opinion if you are getting bald patches....
My goodness! I'm almost 4 months post birth, not breast feeding but my hair is doing the same, it's scary how much I lose! It's everywhere in piles! It settles down eventually.
This happened to me also and it took about 15-17 months post partum to settle down. :) It is just a shift in hormones apparently :)
Just reposted on the Facebook site too! x
It's normal for the first 12mths after birth as you don't lose hair in pregnancy. Don't worry, it will slow down eventually.
I had the same thing happen with both of my children. I hated when it started growing back as I had so much hair loss that I had heaps of short bits that are uncontrollable.
go to the dr and ask for a thyroid blood test. hair falling out is a sign of this. it is very. common to uave thyroid problens after pregnancy.
