19 month old sleeping in own bed

Hi IM's, I am at my wits end with my daughter she will not sleep in her own bed she is 19 months old. I have tried taking the side off the cot but it doesn't work, my dad recently made a bed out of another cot and I have tried putting it in our room and still no luck, she will just scream and scream until she spews..... When she was 10 months old she was going to sleep after 5 mins of crying, I went on a holiday without her dad and when we got back he started holding her to sleep again and allowing her too sleep in our bed even though I told him I didn't want that..... Please give me ideas, I want my bed back

The "camping out" method worked for us, it might or might not be something your interested in. I co slept with my baby from birth and at 15 months felt like it was the right time for him to be in his own bed as he was just getting annoying to sleep with fidgeting, kicking etc. You just get baby ready for bed as usual, a little relax time in their room (story, rocking, light music, whatever is soothing) and put them into bed. Then sit next to the bed until they fall asleep, it is a long process. If she tries getting up gently pat the pillow and say lay down bedtime now other than that no other contact not even eye contact. But once they start getting used to their own room you can start moving further and further away until eventually you don't have to sit in there at all. It sounds tedious but it is a lot easier than it sounds. The first night my son wouldn't have a bar of it but eventually went to sleep after half an hour, he woke 5 times but I just resettled him by laying him down and sitting next to the cot. Now I just put him in his cot after story with his soft music going and just leave and he goes to sleep on his own all night without a fuss. It takes patience but it doesn't get them as worked up as the "cry it out" method. If your interested you can google it there tones of information as I'm sure I've left out a few things, good luck! :)
