False positive on home preg test

Hello fellow IM's

I guess I am just curious about others experiences as I have seen a doctor and waiting on results. I have been on the pill for a few years and stopped first week of October my period returned to normal after 6 weeks and we are trying to conceive but I have not had another period since November I have taken so many home pregnancy tests (I am now 33 days late) and all came back negative, I've been cramping and had sore breasts, sore lower back, felt sick but not been sick and extremely tired. I guess my question is have many of you sisters had false negatives for pregnancy? Can't get back in to see my gp until Friday for blood test results.

you can get false negatives....I had false negative tests with both my children. around the 5 week mark I finally got a positive (for both). Blood tests would be best. Hope you get the answer you are after....let me know how you go!?

i was on the pill for years and years due to polycystic ovarian syndrome and after getting married, wanted to try for a baby. My period returned fairly quickly and became pregnant within 2 months. I never thought that was possible due to my history with POS. However, mine showed up pretty much straight away. In fact, as soon as I started peeing on the stick it came up as positive and i was only 5 weeks at the time. However, after the first month of trying, my period was over a month and a half late and i also had the same symptoms as you - sore breasts, sore lower back, feeling nauseous etc and with complete excitement i did a pregnancy test which showed up negative. I think those symptoms are actually the body adjusting to being off the pill to be honest. As the pill can be considered as hormone therapy, when we stop taking them, symptoms such as what you've stated happen. It happened to me until we got pregnant. Good luck! It can happen quicker than you think!
