Is it sexual abuse a sign of sexual abuse if my son touches his parts?

My son who in 10 months old has just started pulling, touching, playing with his private parts. Does this indicate abuse? My sister has a young boy who is 3 who had the same behaviour and his father is being charged for abuse so I'm concerned as my son is doing the same. Had your son touched his junk and it's not meant anything?

It is quite normal for boys around that age to discover all the bits and pieces that are hanging from them :)

If you are very concerned however, see your gp about your worries, who can help look for other signs in a child of that age

I have 2 boys and from the moment they learnt how to use their hands they grab whatever they can whenever they can lol (and it doesn't change as they get older!!)
In saying that though if there is a genuine concern please take him straight to your dr and get him checked out xx

Most babies and little boys and girls touch themselves at every opportunity!

Welcome to mothering boys! They never take their hands off it. Wait 'til he's out of nappies! Unless you have other valid reasons for concern, I'd not worry at all about that.

Boys love their bits. Unless you think there is a situation where your son has been with person who is suspect then I wouldn't worry !

Sorry but I had to giggle he is a BOY the obsession starts young. And finishes when they either die or it falls off. Your boy is completely normal :-)
