Hiya. Advice needed please IMs
Bit of back story. My DD now 9 had a stroke at birth, she's mentally a typical 9yo tween, however she has Right hemiplegia & in the course of her many OT, physio & Paed appointments we were told last year that she has a "wish" thru the starlight foundation. So my dilemma is…She's just started (again) begging for a pool (big, in ground) is this an appropriate wish? Not even sure if it's doable yet as I feel uncomfortable asking, we don't treat her any different from her siblings (14&4) & I kind of feel guilty for letting her accept a wish when she's "not that disabled" & there's other kids so much worse off than her. On the other hand, it's her wish to do as she wants (& I don't want her to waste it) & it's the only way she would get a pool as we are 1 income & can't afford it.

I'm the parent of a multiple disability child. Take the wish and if a pool is allowed I think that's awesome use of the wish! The health benefits (strength building, coordination, exercising in summer) would be huge. It will have long term enjoyment. Your daughter deserves her wish :)
