New years resolutions?

New years resolutions?

Evening ladies!

So normally, I never bother with New Years Resolutions, because I never keep them lol (do any of us????). But tonight, while I was in the shower, I was thinking about what a long day it was with both the girls (yay for school holidays, eh?) and how I rarely ever do anything for myself any more. Many moons ago when I was much younger, I had a boyfriend who honestly believed I bathed in moisturiser because my skin was so soft. But it's because I always cared for my skin/hair/nails/face etc.... Now, these days, I'm just so busy with looking after the girls, the hubby, the house. I have about a gazillion moisturisers but by time I finish everything at night, sit down and relax a bit, before having a shower and climbing into bed, the last thing I can be arsed doing is moisturising. Be buggered if I manage to brush my hair most days. I usually just throw it up into a pony tail!! When I was younger I use to wear mak-eup EVERY single day. Even if it was just eyeliner. You never saw me without it. Now people around the shops see me with make-up and wonder what the big occasion is lol Anyway, I've digressed a bit - but the point is, my new years resolution is to start taking some time to care for ME! At night time, on kindy days, weekends etc. Any time that I have some spare time I need to do something for me. Get back into my drawing. Start playing guitar more, Moisturise!!!!!!!! Basically any sort of self love & self care. And realise that sometimes it's ok to put myself first. Instead of spending 100% of my time making sure everyone else is ok and happy etc I need to take the time to do the same for me.

So, what's your new years resolution going to be?

I have 3. I used to keep a journal and never seem to find time to write it regularly so I want to do that. I have some relatives overseas who don't have email. Im going to write to them once a month and remember to post the letters! And lastly I have a stack of books. Im going to ditch tv and read instead!

Oh, Rachel I hear you!! I have currently about 4 books all half way started LMFAO .... I get half way through, then buy another book and start, then half way through. I LOVE reading, and have always loved it. But I feel like I can never find the time! But I figure instead of watching crap on tv, some nights I can snuggle up with a good book and a cuppa. I love the writing letters idea too! No one seems to write letters any more.

Well meet your partner Kirsty! I am so guilty of that and watching reruns of garbage on telly then moaning I never have time to read! Two years ago I challenged myself to read 50 books in a year...I got to 48 which.I thought was really good going. This year I think I've read 4! Next year I'll be somewhere in the middle!

Rachel, I just came across something so hilarious!!! There is a word for our book problem lol Tsundoku it means to 'buy books and not read them. Letting books pile up unread on nightstands, floors or shelves" lmfao!!!

I want to be more organised. I used to be the organisation queen but for some reason I've just given up! So 2014 is going to be more organised. Better time manage & build my business :) Good luck with all your new years resolutions!

One of the best sayings I've heard "if it is to be it's up to me" so I'm taking that into 2014!
