Hi. I'm 32 with 2 kids aged 14 and 8. I 1000% do NOT want anymore kids but no doctor will agree to tie my tubes or give me a hysterectomy without going private (which I can't afford)
Just wondering if anyone has successfully gotten their tubes tied or had a hysterectomy in the public system in Brisbane and can recommend someone to see about it? Thanks in advance

Go through the hospital womans clinic. I have 1 daughter and I was gi en all options, including tubs as I do not want more kids. They were more then happy for me to do it, but I opted for a marina instead
Which hospital?
How old are you?
I have 2 kids too. Doctors tried to tell me I might want more but when I had my first at 19, second at 30, I wasn't going to follow the pattern and have number 3 at 40+ . I also had major endometrosis and other complications. I was also a very young grandmother and did not want my own children to be younger than my grandkids. It was only after seeing 7 gyno's that I stumbled across a female gyno at a public hospital in the outpatients department. She repeated tests the other had done but was the only one to do an internal ultrasound. When she saw how much pain that ultrasound caused me, she signed the authority papers straight away. I had the hysterectomy 10 days later at 42yo. It took 11 years of fighting to get it. .
I guess what I'm trying to say is that no matter what, the doctors will try and discourage you from doing it unless you have an extremely valid reason. To them, not wanting more children is not enough sadly.
Good luck x
