My son is 13 and put on 17 kilos in a year and almost 75kg. His 168cm. It never worried him but does now his in high school. He doesnt look obese, plays heaps of sports, but I feel I have failed him as exercise isnt a problem. Im a single mum but try hard to ensure his healthy. A messy divorce probably didnt help things but he is seeing a therapist. I guess I just want advice what to do? How do you help a teen boy with weight concerns?

This is when they just grow, grow and grow. I honestly wouldn't even keep tabs on his height and weight right now. Pre teens and teens stack on weight then have a growth spurt repetitively. If he's eating reasonably healthy and exercising then don't stress, don't try and limit his diet.
His BMI is 26. If he has a muscley build, his body composition might be spot on. Keep him in his sports and eating reasonably healthy like you have been. It sounds like he's fine?
He's probably about to have a massive growth spurt. It's pretty normal to develop a bit of puppy fat during puberty! I wouldn't be surprised if he shoots up and any extra weight just falls off.
I can remember this happening with most of my son's friends, they all looked a bit chubby for a bit then next thing I knew they all towered over me looking like grown men 😂
He's active - keep encouraging that. Help him make sensible food choices, teenagers are always hungry so it's important to provide foods with decent nutritional value so they feel satisfied.
