Hi sisters
I'll keep this as short as I can. I'm wanting to move closer to my family, and medical care for my eldest son. I'm a single parent. My youngest son, 13, has a relationship with his father but it is strained to say the least, and if he didn't have to stay with his dad any more he wouldn't care. His words. Eldest son, 16, does not have a relationship with his father (same father). I'm certain the father would object to us moving, even though it's less than 3 hours away. My question is, does my 13 year old son have any rights in regards to this? I will seek professional advice as well, but just wondering if anyone here might know. Thanks for reading.

Is there a real reason why they don't like seeing him?
He doesn't treat them well. No physical abuse but he belittles them, is controlling etc
You can move anywhere in the state as long as it doesn't prevent any parenting agreements on contact (nsw) I'm in the middle of a very heated custody battle, and my x complained I was seeking housing 5hrs away.... Judge told them to shut up and get over it.
Once a child is 14, you can no longer force them to have contact unless they are placed under a federal court order ordering it.
Thank you. That's what worries me though. Can the father take me to court to try to stop us, or get custody of my son? Has my son got rights even if his dad was somehow given custody?
