Anxiety Hell

I am posting here because I have the worst anxiety at the moment.

I want to know if there is anyone else, that gets super hypersensitive. I can feel everything in my body, it’s the weirdest and most exhausting thing. I get fixated on it. I get weird sensations and pain all over, then I’m fixed on it and can’t move.

Please help me with some advice, if you could. I will be going back on medication tomorrow but in the meantime, I will read from others who may experience what I do, so it can’t help me get past this.

I am so drained from it. My friends think I am crazy when I tell them. I’m sure some people here will understand me.

Thanks in advance

So you know how when you’re stressed in the car and you need to turn down the music? You’re overstimulated. It’s the same thing.
Your anxiety is peeking, your nerves are literally frazzled and so you become hyper sensory.
So to care for yourself - do what feels good. Soft clothes/oodie? Wear it. Only eating toast and tea? Do it. No smells, fine. Warm bath might help. Might be too much with getting wet then cold then towel and changing clothes. Listen to your body, and keep things simple and same. Take some Panadol for your pains. Your meds will help bring it all down so you can cope again.

Other poster has dealt with the calm down well. I'll address the 'friends think I'm crazy'.

This happens if others can't physically see the problem, or haven't felt it themselves. It's not physical - like a broken bone, limp, eyc. even if it manifests in a way they can see the symptoms (what you say, etc.).

I have chronic pain. It causes almost 24/7 migraine. People think I'm putting it on, or lazy (despite my history being to the contrary!). One friend is angry I 'won't' drive three hours to see her (because it causes a week long episode). A relative had a short term similar issue & couldn't function, found the same medical ignorance/ disinterest in it as well. Said, shocked, 'I used to think people were just putting it on' (meaning me). Sadly, most people classify these unseen issues as excuses or drama attention seeking.

Anyway, don't worry what they think and focus on yourself. They don't mean anything bad, just don't understand (and don't want to as it's messy).

Thank you for your reply. I understand your pain as I suffer with chronic migraine. It’s the debilitating. I have been through that too for the past 30 years.

Completely agree - try telling people your child is sensory to creams and sprays and shoes and tags on skin. Yeah, they’re not into it.
Tell them your child has eczema and those things burn. Now they get it and can empathise.
It’s nice for people to understand and empathise, but you don’t need them to. Just tell them your anxiety is bad and you’re in pain.

I have terrible anxiety and had really horrific indigestion/gut issues.
Everything I read pointed to my anxiety, the brain gut connection.
I didn't bother going to the doctors about it.
Anyway, turned out my gall bladder was stuffed and I had gall stones.
So just make sure you get a full medical work up as well and explain to doctor where your pain is.
I still have anxiety, but not the gut issues.

I agree with what someone else said. It turned out my anxiety was caused by a B12 deficiency. Make sure you get bloods! I also had that darn mirena iud which is proven to cause bad side effects including anxiety and depression so be wary of your birth control.

Otherwise please see a Psychologist and not just stop at the GP as you can learn coping skills xx
