Is there anyone here that has food intolerances that causes chronic pain.? I have pain in my intestines. It burns, feels like sun burn. Glass cutting me It irritates my nerves all over. I get nasal congestion, headache, migraine.
I have had all the tests to rule out Crohns, celiac, Colitis but I’m not convinced that all this pain can be caused by a food intolerance, like they say. I have had a recent flare up which is sore and feels like it’s affecting my whole body. I am ready to curl up and cry, getting no answers.
Since this last bout of pain , I had probiotic yogurt for 4 days and some gluten which I usally avoid after being told too. I also Took a probiotic drink daily and I haven’t been able to settle the pain since. It feels like my intestines are raw.
I have had endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasounds, allergy testing, to name a few.
Gastroenterologist advised me that I must have a food intolerance as did 2 different Drs but I am not convinced. I feel like they pass me off because nothing showed up.
Has anyone else got any intolerances that experience so much pain with it? Mine can be mild to raging. No Diarrhoea at all. I’m so fed up.
Don’t tell me to see a Dr. I am there every other week and have tried several Drs. I’ve been through the works with this and coming up with nothing but food intolerances but no one knows what. Just to avoid gluten and dairy. Keep a diary. I don’t think it was much different when i kept away from gluten and dairy.
Is there any actual food intolerance test that can be done? I’m sick of going around in circles. Now I feel like they treat my like an anxiety case and ignore me.
I’m Going to try a naturopath soon. Are they helpful with these things? I don’t know what to believe anymore. What if they tell me it’s not an intolerance, that will confuse me more.

You will need to cut back to basics and do a food elimination test then reintroduce foods back into your system one by one . It may take months . It may even be garlic . You could have IBS which is diagnosed by ruling out other issues such as the ones you described. My son has severe IBS diagnosed this way and now eats a FODMAP diet which is still hit & miss, but one common element among IBS sufferers is garlic . Also eating large portions causes a flare up. Eat smaller portions , often . This was what my Dr had said about my 18yr old son .... no garlic. Diet elimination b4 reintroduction & Smaller portions. So far things are a bit better . Periods of remission are common b4 flare ups come back.
IBS can cause diarrhoea and constipation, or one or the other or neither . Just bcoz you don't have these, doesn't mean it might not be IBS . Worth a thought anyway.
If its not food intolerance, it could be a leaky gut, or your diet it too inflammatory in general. See the naturopath, find one who knows how to weed and seed the gut microbiome.
Takes a long time to fix, but you should start seeing results after a couple of months.
If you want, tell me the brand and strain of probiotic, I can check if I suitable - I have access to a database on my uni portal (studying nutrition and dietetics).
I have never heard of this before. Will look into it TA
It’s the e meluka P3 gut I was taking.

I’ve since changed to a probiotic from the chemist.
Thanks so much for this. You’ll prob tell me it’s garbage lol feels like it burnt my undies to bits.
I just had a look, it's an off shelf product so nothing come up for this brand. It has a lot of strains and doesn't mention how much volume per strain per 15mL. I think it's likely unsuitable for your issue. The burning undies could be the inulin, especially if sourced from chicory (couldnt see the source on their page), or perhaps too any strains - some could be over feeding what you have enough of already.
Thank you very much for this. I really appreciate your help. This was so kind of you.
Yes! Have you looked at the RPAH elimination diet to find out what is bothering your body? Or look at the Food Intolerance Network?
Never heard of these either. On to it now. Thanks so much.
Get a hydrogen breath test done. This can help diagnose lactose and fructose intolerance. Ask you dr about it
Why haven’t they ever mentioned this to me. I feel so lost 😩 thank you
Definitely need Fodmap/ elimination diet. You can’t have any packaged and you can’t “cheat”. Drs aren’t trained in nutrition or food they just give you the drugs to mask the real issues. You have to be totally, 100% committed though. Its a slow, Arduous process but you will definitely get the answers. Jo Whitton - quirky cooking is a great source. Good luck!
