Strength training, quality sleep, quality protein intake, B vitamins.
Are you saying as you get older you’re struggling to lose weight? Or your putting on weight? That’s a given as you get older. It’s not your metabolism that’s the problem. If you’re wanting to lose weight you have to watch what you eat, be in a calorie deficit and do some exercise.
Yes perimenopause is kicking my butt too. I was healthy and then it kept piling on no matter how healthy I thought I was eating or exercise etc. I would suggest looking for a Dietician with an interest in this area. There are some things like happy hormones (natural products) and loads of advice on that site as well. I am trying to figure out my body all over again and what will work but I do know lots of people swear by keto like diet e.g. higher natural fats to teach your body to use it as fuel and lower right down sugars and carbs. Other people have a apple cider vinegar, cinnamon and I cannot remember the other one.. concoction that they swear boosts metabolism. You may have to look that one up. I have swapped alot of my foods e.g. tuna, chicken, cottage cheese, celery etc. and removed alot of the carbs e.g. white potato, bread, grains. I am celiac anyway ;) Good luck 🥰
