Is there an easy way to test a kid for covid?
Sunday I picked my 9yr old up from my mate's after work. He was complaining his stomach hurt and we got in the car and he immediately vomited and then continued to vomit when I got the door open.
Then all Sunday afternoon, kept vomiting.
Monday he only vomited when the Dr was feeling around his stomach and pressed too hard and he said that hurt and then we left and he vomited.
We went to the hospital but after they gave him a tablet to stop vomiting he was feeling alright again but today he keeps saying he has a headache, feeling hot and cold.

Yeah they’re not that bad now. Look at the instructions that you put it almost horizontal and back, not UP the nose. Then let them do it themselves just put your finger where you want them to go back for. I give my kids the choice to do their own or I can do it, it’s not difficult at all and we’ve had positive results so doing it right
Maybe get a mouth swab test.
Where do you get them from?
Just ring around a few chemist and ask for mouth swabs. I know when I got the free ones from chemist some were mouth swabs and some nasal.
Chemist have them
If you have a nasal swap (this is gross) but get them to blow their nose into a tissue and use the snot for the test.
This is the only way I was able to test my 4 year old (he has massive sensory issues). Yes it worked. Not the preferred way I do realise this but we got the result and he was positive.
There is a bad gastro bug going around that is lasting days as well and that Japanese mosquito borne virus. Love the suggestion of the tissue so thanks for asking this question. Ensure you get some electrolyte into him as he is probably dehydrated. Hope he is better soon 😞
