In a few weeks time I'll be ungoing a total hysterectomy and feel quite anxious about the length of time it takes to recover. I know every body is different when it comes to healing, but I would love to hear from you if you've had a total hysterectomy and how long it took you to heal and go back to work

I had a laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy and was back at work exactly two weeks later. I am a good healer though and after having c/sections I was back up and going very quickly following those as well.
I had very little pain and was up and walking within 5 hours of the surgery. By day three I was off all pain relief.
My tip would be to plan 4 weeks but just see how you feel because everyone is different. If you have a sedate office job you could return to work (or work from home) sooner than if you have a physically demanding job.
There are no medals for rushing back to every day life post major surgery.
