Latuda

Latuda

Who is on latuda....?
IV been on it for just over a month, and IV already gained 4kgs. My eating habits are the same, and I'm walking twice daily as always. I'm not allowed to gain weight, for other medical reasons. My mental health is a little more centrered, but in saying that, I honestly don't feel it's the meds, it's more things in my life have settled. I'm already on Lamictal and prestique, but my new specialist won't let me adjust my meds like my old specialist, he chose to add latuda, when I'm already on an anti depressent that an extra 50mg will fix like it it's always done in times of difficulty.
Keep in mind, this specialist, with out looking at my medical history, asked me to under go EST... (ELECTRIC SHOCK THEROPY) stating he has never done it on some one with bipolar 2.

My mum is bi-polar and has ECT when she needs it, it has been an absolute god send when meds couldn't bring her back.
She's had it during acute times and was on a maintenance regime for years.
It's improved since the movies, they put you to sleep and you wake up with a slight headache.

I under stand it's great for treating mania, but I'm simply in a low, not at a point of acute bipolar.

Funnily enough, she usually gets it at the low too.
Meds seem to help the high, but not when she's too far down the hole.
But when I say low, I mean not eating, showering, talking etc.
Obviously, nothing like where you're at.
Sorry don't know about that medication.
