Termination of employment...
Did they do the wrong thing? I have been working at a childcare for about 7 months now and just recently made a complaint about children not being fed as the director refuses to order enough food. I put this complaint along with a few others regarding the care of children into the dept. when it was clear the boss wasn't addressing it.
Long story short, after I done this I was then targeted at work and bullied by staff (in particular a teacher the boss had an affair with).
Last week I was asked to hand in my a letter from the tafe, confirming I was enrolled in childcare studies as the boss cut all shifts from me and I again put in another complaint re-bullying. Come Friday upon picking my own child up from their care I handed the letter to my boss from the tafe, and she advised this wasn't the correct one. So I emailed the tafe and they sent me the correct one after hours.
Come Monday, another parent made a complaint and the big boss informed her that I was fired on the Friday. I was shocked. I'd had no idea and no one had discussed this with me. Nor did it have any relevance to another parents complaint about her own child. They have also advised me I am no longer allowed to attend the centre unless it is strictly to pick up and collect my kids, and they will be letting all staff and parents know I was terminated.
Now, what I didn't know was that my boss actually spoke to my tafe teacher on Friday and was advised I was studying, and the letter I had shown her from the tafe also stated the same thing. Thank you to my teacher calling me, it was clear that this was used as an excuse to terminate my employment.
I'm going to take this further but I would like to know are boss's alowed to tell parents you're fired before they even tell you?

I think they should say that you are no longer a professional but a parent only. They can't discuss the circumstances. Talk to the dept again.
I also think that you should consider leave the centre and enrolling your child elsewhere.
I don't know the technical answer for your question i apoligise but as a mum of a little girl in childcare i hereby say thank you for watching out for others kids. some people believe ots a job but its not your raising the future. thank you for reporting if our children don't get fed right :)
Speak to the employment ombudsman for sure!
1. Move your kids out of there immediately, if they treat you like this imagine imagine how they treat your kids.
2. You need to do something about the kids in their care not bring fed, that's negligent, call a current affair and I am sure there must be child are ombudsman.
3. Lawyer yourself up, unfair dismissal, get compensation from them only don't go bavk there yo work.
I think you need to name this childcare. A call to a current affair now.
