What helps bring on labour

39 weeks and 4 days anything that can help bring on labour, not really keen on being induced. Thanks ☺️

Red hot curry and long walks with steps.

I tried everything with my last 2 pregnancies, nothing worked! I didn't try walking too far though as I had other kids and I also had that waddle happening, I just did laps of the backyard which felt like a lot but probably wasn't lol. A friend of mine went to visit her friend in hospital and decided to walk there at 40 weeks, it was a few kms with a hill and by the time she got there she was having contractions. You can usually go 10 days overdue before being induced unless there's complications.

In my experience - absolutely nothing 🤣
(Induced at 40w+10 three times).

There is some evidence that sex can kick start labour, same with physical activity. Neither worked for me obviously, all it did was exhaust me.
Be cautious with spicy food as well, the last thing you want when you do go into labour is a case of firey diarrhoea. I may or may not be speaking from experience lol...

My experience of being induced was pretty good though if it's any comfort.

Just wait. It’s just a number. Tell them you’ll wait until 42 weeks thanks.

5 babies and tried lots of things - nothing worked. Babies come when they’re ready. I was induced with my last due to medical reasons and the only real difference between that and my first 4 was that I was in the hospital labouring for longer. There’s also different induction methods - doctors breaking my waters and then pumping was enough to put my body into labour. I feel for you though - going overdue is exhausting. Wishing you a safe delivery when the time comes ☺️

Try pineapple juice, lots of it. It is part of a group of foods that have some kind of enzyme that can soften the cervix. They say there's no proof of it working but there's no proof of it not working either, no harm done by trying lol.

Intimacy worked for me. I had tried everything else, got to the third and that's what did it ;)

Nothing but hormones bring on labour in its own time and if anyone says otherwise, they're lying .

I'm a mum of eight .

Cervix stimulation can bring on labour, so can waters breaking. My last 2 pregnancies were induced and I was given hormones with one of them and it didn't work at all, I had to have my waters broken to bring on labour then when I went for the next one I refused hormones and went straight for my waters broken 1.5 hours later I had my baby.

It's still hormone reactant . Breaking of waters leads to hormone changes that encourage labour
