So, I had the depoprovera shot for a year & bled constantly, heavy, painful, cramping period bleeding. My g.p insisted it would settle & to persevere, after 12 months I couldn't take it anymore & stopped the shots.
That was 3 months ago, I am still bleeding heavy, clotting, painful, cramping period bleeding.
I do have endometriosis, PCOS & a blood clotting disorder.
Is there something I can ask my g.p for that will at least stop the bleeding? I actually want a hysterectomy but the wait is over 18 months due to covid.
Thank you.

When this happened to me I was given combined contraceptive pill to stop it. My bleeding wasn't quite as bad as yours though.
Ask him/her for Tranexamic acid. It will stop it.
When I had my first (and only) depoprovera shot I also bled for 52 days solid 🥺 heavy heavy heavy! My GP gave me ‘primlout’ tablets which only helped me to slow the bleeding down and didn’t stop it. The other suggestion was taking an oral contraceptives to try and put my hormones right but by the time they listened to me my body seemed to sort itself out.
I have used Primolut in the past to control bleeding but you need an appointment with a gynecologist to sort out underlying problems and get you back to normal.
When i had depo I bled the full 3 months including an extra 3 months and that was with one dose. It was heavy and continuous . God knows how but I fell pregnant during that time too and bled the whole pregnancy . That baby is 22 yrs old now. Worst contraceptive ever.
