Doesn’t anyone know what this means. My sons blood tests results showed lower white blood cell count. The Dr said only slightly lower. The Dr wasn’t worried and said it usually means the body is fighting a virus or something.
Then the Dr said she will test him again with blood tests in 6 weeks. Drs can be so confusing and vague. Firstly nothing to worry about then testing him again in 6 weeks.
How do we get the count up? Is there any particular food he should be eating? What if the count is still the same at 6 weeks? Then what? What does this even mean. Does it mean he is lacking something? The rest of his bloods were great. Could food cause this?
Dr wasn’t concerned at all but more so if they are checking him in 6 weeks, what happens if it hasn’t changed then? Wish the Dr told me, so I don’t need to keep thinking more into this. I just have no idea what any of it means.

Usually white cells are higher when fighting infections. Ring the drs, tell them your worried and ask the questions to them.
Depends on which white blood cells are on the low side?
Sometimes it can be deficiencies, sometimes can be because of a virus or bacteria, or immune system issue. Could be anything.
I wouldn't be too concerned as fluctuations can happen, best wait and see what the next test tells.
Ok thank you, this makes me feel better.
