I am wanting to relocate to Melbourne from country Victoria and am unsure of the suburb I would like to land in. I am considering Flemington, essedon Carlton,Brunswick and footscray. I contemplated Geelong as well. But due to many reasons being close to Melbourne would benefit us.
Is there somewhere that is safer than others?
Any recommendations for both primary and high school within the area.
It's a big move but I am wanting to gain as much information as possible.

Yuk! I wouldn’t live in any of those suburbs you mentioned. They are full of high rise housing commission. Is there a reason you want to live so close to the city? There are much nicer suburbs a little further from the city.
Is there a reason for these suburbs in particular? There are some much nice areas around than those mentioned.
Lots of excellent schools in the Essendon and surrounding areas, public and private.
Brunswick is amazing! Melbourne is all about what your budget is though
