Lost and lonely

Lost and lonely

Does anyone else feel lost in their life?
I have a few close friends (unfortunately my closest friends don’t live nearby though), I have my child who makes me proud as punch, I work, I have a partner.

Even though I have all these things I feel like something is missing and I often feel very lonely with no idea how to make new friends. I’ve always struggled with friendships, first to admit that I’m a bit socially awkward.

Any suggestions on ways to make friends or hobbies that people have taken up so they don’t feel lost and lonely all the time would be greatly appreciated

I can complete relate we moved for a sea change, and to be perfectly honest trying to make new friends is a lot harder than I anticipated.

I've become a solo female traveller.
I travel for concerts or go camping solo.
Both because they challenge me. Imagine being the only solo concert goer in a crowded venue. I've been doing it so long now I walk in like I own that shit.
And the travel, there's nothing like the confidence that comes from being completely capable. I drive a brand new car and tow a vintage caravan. If something goes wrong it's on me to sort it. If I want to eat it's on me to make food, if the van needs repairs - you got it, I fix it. It's incredibly liberating.
I wouldn't say I make friends from these but I sure do spend some time with some interesting characters.
