Shin splints

Hey mums!
Any advice on healing/easing shin splints?
*note, they're sore from sport, and I have good quality fitted shoes for both work and sport!!
Ive started taking magnesium suppliment and they're coming good with rest and ice as well as magnesium spray and neurofen gel but wondering if anyone else had any luck with healing them without stopping weekly games and training??
Edit* I've started using a foam roller on my shins and calves and the pain has eased significantly, I don't have the pain when walking now but still sore to touch but I haven't trained or played a game since due to wet weather.
Thanks all!

I used to get them alot when I was younger and over trained (competitive sprinter) only release i got was from pressure socks, and heat packs, and resting. Light extensive, like short walks. If you don't rest they won't improve.

Get an assessment from a podiatrist. Good quality shoes are one thing but they're not worth the money you pay if they don't suit the shape of your feet or cause the wrong muscles to activate
