My husband has always run hot. Even during winter when everyone else is freezing (he’s great value for me in winter, as I’m always on the colder side 🤣). But he sweats A LOT. He leaves sweat patches everywhere and drenches our bed sheets and pillows every night, to the point we have to throw them out fairly often.
What can I do to help this? We’ve tried different types of pillows, pillow protectors, mattress protectors - everything ends up stained and eventually completely worn through or in the bin.
He sleeps with a fan on him every night, has had tests done and nothing significant is coming up that could be a cause (he’s been like this since he was a kid), so just looking for ideas on how to reduce the amount of stuff that’s needing to be replaced all the time.
Thanks in advance!

My husband is like this. Radiates heat like a sick person but nothing wrong with him. Whenever he sleeps on an air mattress he is fine so I think for him it has a lot to do with the mattress being too hot, kind of absorbs his heat and gives it back to him making it worse. Next time we buy a mattress we will go for one with more air flow, last time we just went for comfort without thinking so of course it has a huge pillow top with no airflow.
I actually bought a mattress topper about a year ago that was meant to help. It’s about 12cm thick now (was 20ish when new) and is meant to help airflow and help cool you while you sleep, etc. but I haven’t really noticed a difference, unfortunately.
I sweat and get hot quite a bit and it’s awful. I usally have a cool show before bed and also I can’t wear certain material that makes me worse.long sleeves I can’t do either. The lighter clothing he wears the better. Try cool shower before bed.
He does that, too but it only helps initially. He strangely covers himself in the same blankets I use and won’t sleep uncovered either 😅
Aircon. I'm the same, now have aircon in the bedroom.
Unfortunately, no aircon and in a rental.
You can get portable ones, not evaporative coolers, proper air con units.
Sounds like he suffers from hyperhidrosis
My husband is like this also, rolling over to hug him and getting covered in sweat is gross.
Sounds like mine too
He is diabetic as some have mentioned
His diet plays a part too, cleaner, low carb, no sugar and no alcohol reduces his amount of sweat
Sleeping in air conditioning with a fan too
The sheets get almost bleached and need washing multiple times a week if not daily
We are older now and sleep in separate beds BEST thing ever as the worm has turned and I’m a hot mess and need the air conditioner and fan while he freezes
